March 2006 Archives

Just so all of the users of this site and of the Louisville Punk/Hardcore/Indie history know and are aware, content has been harvested from this site's history and placed on another site. While copying is allowed under it's license, the other site is ignoring the hard work that several of you have put into updating your bands and experiences on the LHXC.com History, and not giving credit to any of the LHXC users that added/edited the information. It is not even acknowledging this site as it's source. It is also, through the use of advertisements (*see below), trying to make money off of the information, another violation of the CC license.
If people would rather use that site's wiki-based "history", feel free too. But I ask that you please remember where this came from.. http://www.louisvillehardcore.com/ and recognize it as such. Thanks.

(as for ads, according to my Google Adsense account, and adding in donations from people such as Jamie Miller, Daisy Schwartz, t-shirt sales, this site has enough money!!! to make it's renewal payment in August. So I'm taking all advertisements off of this site TODAY. This site, and it's information should be free to all. I don't think I should make money off of just presenting and cataloging other people's hard work. FUCK THAT.

Nixon in LEO

|

Anthony Bowman interviewed Nixon for LEO magazines "Five Important Questions With..." section. If you want to take a look at Matt Haas be a blasphemous Scheisser in regards to Slint (just joking).

Brick House news (posted late)

|

The first two workdays of the year were a great success for the Brick House. Thanks to everyone who came out and pitched in! There are still things to work on, so we've decided to have workdays this coming Saturday, March 25th from 12-6, and Monday the 27th from 4-9. Please spread the word, and do what you can. ....

Lords Interview on Lambgoat

|

You know, this shit isn't fucking new or anything, but it's still a pretty fucking good read. I just fucking found it. The interview is from a couple of months back (November?) with Owens before Lords went to Europe (and I guess before it was even planned 'cuz they didn't know who they were going with). But yeah, good shit. Look it the fuck up, assholes.

New punk recording options

|

Ari from Tears To Glory has opened up a new studio in the Louisville area. So far he's worked on recording Arafel, Your Highness, and Tears to Glory, and would probably be interested in working with your band or solo project as well. I don't know how much he's charging, but the word is that they are extremely competitive. If you want to check him out and get in touch, hit 'em up on the myspace thing. -->

March site updates

|

I messed up. The last two months, I completely neglected the MP3s section. I've also been pretty busy and not able to update the shows. So... I just updated the shows page with 15+ shows for March, April, and May as well as the current Bands page.
In addition, I threw up some new mp3s - The Sunny Side of Louisville 7" compilation (Castner, 4 Rose Society, Union, By The Grace Of God), and Wino's s/t CD. http://www.louisvillehardcore.com/mp3s/

Glasspack news for March

|

Attention,
It's been a while so here goes...
the Pack has been busy writing and rehearsing new material for a 4th full-length release, their third on Small Stone Recordings. Recording will take place in Louisville in April and is to be titled "the Glasspack/Dirty Women."
There are already at least 8 new tracks that we've been playing at test-run shows.

Second Story Man will be releasing a new 7-song CD on April 11th, entitled "Red Glows Brighter." There will be advance copies available especially for the Last Saturday show at the Keswick on March 25th. Mp3 previews can be found at: http://www.secondstoryman.net or at http://www.myspace.com/secondstoryman
