Alcohawk finishes new recordings

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Local party boys Alcohawk have finished up new recordings. See below for details from their FB page.

hi everyone.

We just finished up recording at Studio K. which is probably the best and most amazing thing to happen in Louisville since Skull Alley opened. Expect a 7inch on Brightskull Records in the spring, along with a possible CD-R release around Derby time.

We are playing a house-esque show on March 12th, check out our events for more info! We will have new shirts (designed by Ryan Patterson), and koozies for sale. Stay tuned to the event page to find out where the venue is (stop snitchin’).

legalize it, Alcohawk

Coliseum joins Temporary Residence and readies new record

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Greetings all! We’ve been hiding out for many months working on our third long-player and putting plans into place for 2010. I’m happy to announce that the record is complete and our friends at Temporary Residence will be releasing it this summer! We couldn’t be happier about working with Temporary Residence, they’re one of the greatest labels out there, with strong Louisville roots and hearts that are in the right place. Our years working with Relapse were incredible and we have nothing but great things to say about everyone there, but we felt that it was time for a change. It’s an entirely amicable move on all sides and joining Brooklyn-based Temporary Residence, who began in Louisville and have grown to be one of the biggest and best indie labels in the world, is very exciting for us. Jake getting a friendly whoopin'

Mountain Asleep has had to cancel their 3 year anniversary show scheduled for February 27th at the House Of Wax. Max’s mom is getting married that day, and kinda can’t play the show. Soooo… the rest of the show is now off as well.

MA should now be celebrating the anniversary a week later at the March First Saturday show w/ ALGERNON CADWALLADER (philly) and Wise Blood (1st show, louisville band). Bring balloons and throw a pie into Jake Snider’s face (and/or weiner).

Mr. Underhill

These guys were bastions of Hobbit culture before Elijah Wood had ever heard of furry feet. And they’re going to be bringing their bollocks back to your ears this April. Keep your eye out for date, time, and venue.

Check out their site for Video, Audio downloads, and long-lost photos!

Maurice reunion!?

Apparently it’s been going around on the Facebooks for a week, but there is major word of a Maurice/Bush League/who the fuck knows who else reunion. According to Garrison, “I would also like to see Malignant Growth/Fading Out as the headlining act of this show.” and “Right now the opening bands are looking like Bush League and Muddy Nasty River. I would like to see Sancred, Erchint or Mr. Big for the additional opening spots. ” This would be a reunion to help Jason Noble. New Maurice shirts should be coming soon to help raise some money for Jason as well as raise some money to bring David Pajo in town for the show.  All I have to say is holy shit. That, and I owe Ben Parrot a dollar.
