WrittenOff-7inch

Written Off 7inch

Written Off has a new 7″ about to come out on Six Feet Under Records. It’s ready for pre-order on the Six Feet Under Site. From Six Feet Under:

“In the summer of 2009, inspired by the growing scene in Louisville, Written Off began writing music in vein of hardcore most recognized in Boston and other areas of the North East. After self-releasing Louisville Straight Edge demo cassette tape, a self-titled 7″ on Iron Mind Crew Records, and a split with Atlanta’s Out Crowd on Iron Mind Crew/Like Glue Records, Written Off started writing new material that would define their sound and prove to be their best material thus far. In 6 fast paced, straight to the point tracks, Written Off proves with their second self-titled record the potential of Midwest Hardcore in 2013. This is that record.”

You can listen to a track from the new record on the Six Feet Under BandCamp page.

Written Off also has a special release of their split 7″ with Outcrowd available. The release is a fundraiser for Nora Jane Worley, a 6-month old with a rare heart defect. Records and more info are available up at the Iron Mind Crew webstore. The limited release has a cover featuring Nora and limited colors.

Lee Van Cleef – Songs About…

Sunday, October 14th, 2012

LVC - Songs ABout ShittingLee Van Cleef called it quits earlier this year in almost typical Louisville fashion. That is to say that they had to part ways right after recording a new record instead of the way everyone seems to record/release/break up almost right afterwards. Justin headed off for D.C. adventure, babies were had, etc. Regardless, that record, helmed by Trip at Treehouse Audio, is seeing the light of internet-day now on Bandcamp and Soundcloud. Entitled Songs About Shitting, please give it a shot even if you tend to be fecal-phobic.

Spine, Permanent Night, Stabler at Nelligan Hall There’s a new band starting up from members of Rattletooth, Late Ones, and Straight A’s. This is a lot more in the vein of Rattletooth than the other bands mentioned, so just forget that last sentence. Permanent Night has already recorded several songs with Trip at Treehouse Audio and put their demo up on Bandcamp for everyone to check out. Their first show will be on October 21st, 2012 at Nelligan Hall with Spine, Liars Parade, and Stabler.

COLISEUM: NEW BASS PLAYER, AUGUST TOUR, FREE 7”

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

Via Ryan:

Coliseum Young Widows TourCOLISEUM: NEW BASS PLAYER, AUGUST TOUR, FREE 7”! We’d like to welcome our longtime friend Kayhan Vaziri into the ranks of Coliseum as our new bass player. Kayhan has already played two local shows with us and seamlessly joined in the writing process for our next album. We couldn’t be more excited to have him on board as a bandmate and brother.

2012 has been the first year in our eight year history that we’ve spent off the road and not on tour, but we’re going to venture out for a short jaunt with Young Widows in August, our first tour together since 2009. The Toronto show on August 3rd is a free show and everyone who attends receives a free 7” featuring new and unreleased songs from Coliseum, Young Widows and Toronto’s TV Freaks! We’ll have more info on how to RSVP for that soon.

In the meantime, we’ll continue to work diligently at writing our fourth (and certainly best) album. We’re recording later this year and it will be out sometime in early 2013 on Temporary Residence. More on that as the time approaches… For now, we’re very excited to have Kayhan in the band and stoked for the upcoming shows and 7”!
