The Rumble in Chicago

The Rumble in Chicago

As you have probably/maybe/possibly heard, By The Grace Of God is heading out this summer for a show in the US as well as a European tour. The only US date (so far, let’s see what happens!) will have the same lineup as Krazy Fest – Rob, Duncan, Jay, Thommy, and Tree. The Euro tour will have Ben Sears filling in on drums. The US date is in Chicago and there’s little to no reason for Louisville not to swarm the place. The Rumble in Chicago will have DYS, Trial, Madball, Ringworm, Most Precious Blood, BTGOG, Ceremony and more (Harms Way f yeah). The fest/show (it’s Friday and Saturday) will be at The Bottom Lounge on Lake Street (it may look familiar).
Actually, I’m looking into getting a van to take up full of Louisville people. Let’s get a couple of car loads up there if possible. Check the message board for planning info.

Late Ones and Skyscraper Stereo Sign to Little Heart Records

Late Ones and Skyscraper Stereo Sign to Little Heart Records

New (and old) Releases from Both Planned for Summer and Through 2011

Little Heart Records would like to welcome Skyscraper Stereo and Late Ones to the growing Little Heart Records’ family.

Skyscraper Stereo

Skyscraper Stereo is one of Louisville’s most popular hip-hop groups.  With ground breaking beats and clever rhymes, our hip hop group will be sure to make you want to move no matter what your favorite music genre is.

Bryan Puckett, Little Heart Records’ manager and owner, and Chris Lenhart, Skyscraper’s manager, worked together on getting this group signed.  Puckett was ready to add these guys to the label as soon as he heard them. “I’m very picky about hip-hop and I couldn’t get “Hoodrat Things” out of my head for days. You guys can put two and two together,” Puckett said.

Homebois in Outerspace will be released June 28th with a CD Release Party to follow. Details on that will be available shortly.

Late Ones

Late Ones add a genuine pop punk core sound to the label.  These guys know how to get the crowd moving with their fast paced guitar riffs and naturally energetic stage presence.  Late Ones is bringing that old classic punk sound back to Louisville.

“The first time I saw Late Ones I was reminded of the first time I saw The Movielife- and anyone who knows me knows that’s my all time favorite band, so that’s a major compliment. The energy. The interaction. I felt ten years younger again. I knew right then I wanted to bring them into our family and approached them that night. I’m stoked it’s worked out,” Puckett said.

Late Ones will be digitally reissuing their first EP with the label, remastered. A vinyl 7 inch of new material is planned for later in the year.

Little Heart Records is a Louisville, KY based record label. Boasting a roster with such acts as Talk of Spring, California, Night Torn Mad, The Gravetones, Danielle Bouchard, Uh-Huh Baby Yeah and many more, their goal is to cram good music down your throats. Fer serious.

Vend A Pin comp

Vend-A-Pin Collection List

Vend-A-Pin Collection List

If you’ve been walking around Louisville the past year or so, you’ve likely seen the Vend-A-Pin machines around Bardstown Road, particularly at Ultra Pop. For those that haven’t been initiated to it yet, you pop in quarters and you get a .5″ button with artwork from a local artist on it. Well, Royal Buttons has expanded this program as well as expanded the locations for the machines and made this game of ‘collect them all’ a bit more fun. As mentioned before on Louisville Hardcore (as well as other places), Royal Buttons has released their Vend-A-Pin Volume 1 compilation and the only way to get this sweet piece of 12″ vinyl – collect buttons corresponding to all 10 bands on the comp. For a full track list, click on the Collection List image to the left.

The buttons have been spread around town in various vending machines and are available for fifty cents. Here’s a list of places you can find them –
Ear X-Tacy, Ultra Pop, Nachbar, Highland Coffee, Derby City Espresso, Derby City Chop Shop, The Tim Faulkner Gallery, and Land Of Tomorrow (on Broadway).

When you get a pin from the machines, you get one of those fun little bubbles that you loved as a kid with the band’s pin and a download code for the band’s contribution to the comp. Make sure to keep the paper that the code is on – to get the actual vinyl comp, you need to collect all ten and bring them to Ear X-Tacy and redeem them.
