Coliseum - Parasites

PARASITES EP 12”/CD – In stores Nov 15th:

Our new 8-song Parasites EP on Temporary Residence Limited will hit store shelves this coming Tuesday, November 15th. Hopefully there’s still a great indie record store near you that will stock it, unfortunately Louisville’s beloved ear X-tacy just closed their doors after 26 years. For those of you without record store access, you can order the 12″ and CD direct from Temporary Residence or from Shirt Killer. Shirt Killer is also offering a combo with the 12″/CD and Parasites shirt here.

We’re celebrating the release of Parasites this weekend with our appearance at Louisville’s second annual Cropped Out Festival. We play on Sunday with the legendary Scratch Acid and our literal and figurative brothers, Young Widows. This is very likely our last show for many months, after this we’re going to take an extended break from touring and begin work on our fourth album. Get tickets, set times, and all other info for Cropped Out here. Black God is also playing the festival on Saturday.

RYAN PATTERSON: APOCALYPTICISM art prints, shirts and more:

My friends at Static Age Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio were kind enough to invite me to have my first solo art exhibition over the course of October. The show was titled “Apocalypticism” and featured a lot of new design work and paintings as well as record covers, posters and other work I’ve done over the years. I did a handful of new prints for the show and an Apocalypticism t-shirt, all of which are now available to order online from Shirt Killer. The two new 18×24″ screen printed posters I did the show (Holy Cosmos and You + Me) are among my favorite work that I’ve done, expertly printed by Static Age’s in-house print shop Southpaw Prints.

That’s it for now, thanks!

Coliseum- August 2010 news and tour info

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Greetings everyone, we’re flying out to the Power Of The Riff festival in Los Angeles this weekend and wanted to drop a line with our upcoming tour dates and a new video for “Lost In Groningen”.

Western North American Tour with Burning Love:
Thanks to everyone who came out for the first half of the Coliseum / Burning Love North American tour. We’ll be kicking off the second leg starting August 27th in Chicago, all the dates are below. It’s been a while since we’ve been to most of these spots and we’re really looking forward to the tour.

House With A Curse LP/CD Out Now:
Our third album, House With A Curse, was released June 22nd on Temporary Residence Limited and seems to be our most well-received record yet. Folks at SPIN, Decibel, The Onion AV Club, Alternative Press, and many others had very nice and humbling words to say about the record. We’re incredibly happy with the record and it’s great to get it out there and share it with everyone. All of the colored vinyl from the first pressing is sold out, but the nice embossed / spot gloss LP jackets are still available from Temporary Residence and Shirt Killers.

New video for “Lost In Groningen”:
Our collaborators on the “Blind In One Eye” video, Matt Whitson and Justin Gaar, are part of the Emmy-winning Alabama Public Television program We Have Signal. They filmed us at the first show of our tour in June at the fabulous Bottletree in Birmingham and have given us an exclusive multi-camera / multi-track audio clip of “Lost In Groningen” to share prior to the airing of the show in coming months. The video is on our Facebook and Vimeo sites, so swing over and check it out!

European / UK Tour:
We’ll be returning to Europe and the UK for the first time since our 2008 tour with Converge and Integrity, this time with an awesome bill featuring Vancouver’s Bison BC and Norway’s Kvelertak as support. Spanning most of November and a bit of early December, we’re covering as much ground as we can manage and are so looking forward to returning to some of our favorite locations in the world. It’s going to be a great bill and a great time. Check out the dates below.

Coliseum/Auxilary October 09 News

Friday, October 9th, 2009

From Ryan Patterson:

Greetings all. It’s been a while since the last Coliseum update…

First, we’re very happy to welcome Coliseum’s new drummer Carter Wilson to the fold. Carter hails from Birmingham and we tracked him down on the suggestion of Young Widows, who we thank very much for the tip. He joined the band in August and has seamlessly learned our old songs while diving headlong into new material. Many movies, burritos and good times have been shared in the last few months and we look forward to many more down the road. We’ll be hitting the road this month for the first time since June, debuting some new songs and playing our first batch of shows with Carter.
