Ye Olde Ryan T. Davis here. Just typing to tell you that my rock ‘n’ roll band, “State Champion,” has a brand new 12″ vinyl record for sale starting TODAY.

That’s right, y’all. It’s called Deep Shit (sorry for the potty-title), and is the follow-up to last year’s debut full-length LP, Stale Champagne.

That being said, I know we’ve been through this before, so I’ll save you the long-winded e-mail… but if you’re interested in picking up a copy for your listening pleasure (it comes with a CD, in case you don’t have a turntable), or if you don’t care about music at all but just want to support an old pal, you should swing by the Sophomore Lounge website and grab one fresh off the frying pan while they’re still sizzlin’…

This’ll probably go down as the show of the Fall. Shit, I wish that was as catchy as “Show of the Summer”. Oh well, fuck it. There will be stage dives, high fives, smelly pits, overly clean dudes, pop punk jumps, angry growls, and pretty much anything most of you would want from a hardcore show regardless of your individual preferences. So try to make it out and support these locals and your pals if you know these guys, and try out something new if you’re not familiar with what’s going on. It’ll also be the 7″ release show for the Out Crowd/Written Off split, a new Enough 7″, and Another Mistake’s ‘Lies For Lust’ 7″. So bring some $$$ to pick up the new releases as well.

I’m going to go ahead and say that even though the flyer states “No fighting, no farting”, that I’m gonna crop dust the shit out of that living room.

Coliseum – Parasites EP, merch and tour

Greetings, it’s been a while since a Coliseum update and we have some cool news to share!

PARASITES EP 12”/CD – Pre-order now, in stores Nov 15th:

We have a new 8-song EP titled Parasites coming out via Temporary Residence Limited on November 15th. Both TRL and Shirt Killer are offering pre-orders now, each with their own exclusive colored vinyl and the Shirt Killer combo includes a screen print of the cover art, signed by artist Rick Froberg (the mighty singer, guitarist and illustrator from Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, Obits and Pitchfork). We’ll also have an exclusive color of vinyl for sale only on tour. (For those keeping score: TRL has 100 orange w/ black haze, SK has 100 orange / green split, the band has 100 green w/ black splatter for tour and the rest of the first pressing are on black vinyl.)

The Parasites EP is our first release of new material since House With A Curse and we’re very excited to finally release this varied collection of songs. The bulk of the EP was produced and recorded by J. Robbins at Inner Ear Studios in DC last year, along with three songs from the House With A Curse sessions recorded by Kevin Ratterman, and an additional song recorded by Trip Barriger in Louisville. J. mixed the whole thing at his Magpie Cage studio in Baltimore and then we enlisted Rick Froberg to top it all off with his incredibly wild and unique artwork. This thing looks awesome and unlike any other Coliseum record, that’s for sure!
